2024 CSA
At ECO, we grow over 70 varieties of fruits and vegetables. We grow food in ways that sustain the environment, our farmers, and our communities. We choose climate-resilient and heirloom varieties, and incorporate a wide range of sustainable growing practices. Your CSA membership supports our ongoing commitment to treating our communities and our land with love and respect.
How does it work?
A CSA is kind of like a season-long subscription to fresh food. As a CSA member, you sign up and pay for your shares ahead of time (right now!). Once the regular growing season starts, you’ll come to the farm every Thursday to pick up a bag with fresh, healthy, organically grown fruits and vegetables inside. You’ll receive an email newsletter each week with a list of that week’s produce, recipe ideas, and updates about what’s going on at ECO City Farms. You’ll also be invited to CSA member-only events, like our spring CSA open house.
What’s in the CSA?
We strive to provide you with quality, abundance, and variety in each share. A share is generally enough food for one to two people. We do our best to plan to give you a different mix of produce each week! A sample of what your share might look like in each season is below.
Spring season: curly kale, bibb lettuce, scallions, sprouting broccoli, and parsley
Summer season: tomatoes, cantaloupe, garlic scapes, potatoes, and cucumbers
Fall season: bell peppers, eggplant, okra, collard greens, and carrots
We also periodically offer CSA members the chance to purchase additional special products from other local farmers, including honey, soaps, teas, and more.
When are the pickup dates?
Our CSA season is 26 weeks long, and starts on May 16th. We take off the week of July 4th.
Members have the option to sign up for:
- Full season, Spring to Fall: May 16th through November 14th (26 weeks) – SOLD OUT
- Half season, Summer to Fall: August 22nd through November 14th (13 weeks)
How much does a CSA cost?
New! Pay what you can with our sliding scale. This year we’re implementing a sliding scale payment system in an effort to provide food access for more members of our community here in PG County. A sliding scale means that there are several payment options for you to choose from, based on your understanding of your own financial need, and other forms of social privilege you may experience in the world. Learn more about this model in the description on our shop page. Members also will the option to pay for their CSA in full now, or in monthly installments, coming soon.
