ECO City Farms at Edmonston is nestled in 1.5 acres within a mixed-use neighborhood adjacent to the Anacostia River, and now serves as an intensively cultivated community gathering space. As our first farm, Edmonston quickly became the anchor of many of our programs and projects. We grow vegetables, fruits, and herbs year-round in four season-extending hoop houses and on compost-enriched small plots. The farm also includes a processing kitchen and classroom, both constructed from shipping containers, as well as a large hoop house nursery where we house all of our plant starts. It is home to our farm cat, Rosie.
