GWU Freshmen Service Day

George Washington University kicked off the fall semester by choosing ECO City Farms as one of the sites for the 6th annual Freshman Day of Service. 50 students, divided amongst both the Edmonston and Autumn Woods farms, participated. From painting shipping containers, for our soon-to-be kitchen/classroom hybrid, to constructed the base for a hugelkultur, the students worked very hard, and made the most of a hot, sunny afternoon. Check the photos to see the photos from the students at Autumn Woods. A very special shout-out goes to Walter James Jr., the Mayor of Bladensburg, who also gave us a hand!
