ECO'S OFFERINGS
ECO City Farms is a nonprofit urban teaching and learning farm that serves the Prince George’s County community. ECO grows great food, farms and farmers in ways that protect, restore and sustain the natural environment and the health of local communities.
Purchase Produce from us
We have two opportunities to engage with our produce:
- If you’d like to receive a scheduled weekly share of vegetables, sign up for our CSA.
- Alternatively, we have our Farm Stand at our Bladensburg farm (6100 Emerson St.) open from March through October. Our farm stand is currently closed for the remainder of the season.
- Eco donates any leftover produce to various food distribution organizations in Prince George’s County.
OUR PROGRAMS
The Beginner Farmer Training Program is a 10-month commitment that offers a comprehensive farming education for individuals with 0-3 years of farming experience. Our curriculum covers all of the crop production, resource management, and administrative skills needed for graduates to roll up their sleeves and start farming. The program is completely free. Applications are open from August 28th until October 30th. To learn more, visit https://www.ecoffshoots.org/education/beginning-farmer-training-program/#.
ECO City Farms has partnered with the Prince George’s Soil Conservation District and Prince George’s Food Equity Council to create our Urban Farm Incubator. The UFI leases out 10 half-acre plots to beginner farmers launching farm-based businesses, and provides support through common infrastructure, equipment, mentoring, and technical assistance. To learn more, visit https://www.ecoffshoots.org/urban-farm-incubator/.
The Seed2Feed Summer Youth Program engages local high school students in hands-on experiences of food production, ranging from vegetable cultivation, cooking, creative arts and more. Program participants are typically recruited through our partner organizations, with limited availability for other students in Prince George’s County. To learn more, visit https://www.ecoffshoots.org/education/summer-youth-program/.

Other ways to get involved
ECO relies on the generous support of community members like you to make our vision a reality. Your contributions enable us to offer fair wages to our farmers, cultivate fresh and sustainable produce, and empower the next generation of urban farmers, eaters and activists. If you’d like to contribute,
ECO publishes our volunteer days on our Instagram and through our mailing list. Sign up for our volunteer mailing list to stay up to date with us. We look forward to working with you!
ECO does not currently have the capacity to work with home gardeners and farmers one on one. To learn more about our farming and compost practices, request a farm tour or check out ECO’s online resources.
