FALL CSA
How’s it work? Members sign up and pay for the season ahead of time, then pick up their share of produce each week. Members will receive an email newsletter each week with a list of that week’s produce, recipe ideas and any updates.
Dates: The Fall season will begin on Sept 4 and extend to Nov 12, 2020. A weekly share will be available for these 10 weeks.
What’s in the CSA?: The share will contain 5-6 items each week. The produce will be seasonal and includes items like salad mixes, cooking greens, root vegetables, herbs and microgreens. One share feeds about 2 people, a double share feeds about 4 people.
Examples of some of the veggies in the CSA: Green beans, Eggplant, Garlic, Beets, Scallions, Carrots, Cucumbers, Herbs, Kale, Leeks, Lettuce, Microgreens, Salad mix, Mustard greens, Okra, Hot and sweet peppers, Radishes, Peas, Squash, Zucchini, Tomatoes, Chard, and Turnips.
Share Size Options: The Single share will contain 5-6 items each week. The Double share will also contain 5-6 items but in twice the amount of the single share option. A Single share feeds about 2 people, a Double share feeds about 4 people.
Pick-up: Thursdays 3-5pm and Saturdays 9-11am at the Edmonston Farm (4913 Crittenden Street Edmonston, MD 20781). Due to COVID-19, members will be assigned a 30 min pick-up window for curbside pick-up in order to control the number of people at the farm at one time.
Cost: The price is $15 a week for a CSA share, for a total of $150 for the season. The price is $30 a week for a double CSA share, for a total of $300 for the season. Additional fees apply to some payment methods.
Food Safety: Keeping our food, staff and community healthy and safe is a top priority. While our operation already adheres to high standards of cleanliness and hygiene, we are taking additional precautions to maximize food safety and health.
These include:
Instituting strict personal hygiene regimes for all food production staff;
Minimizing the number of hands that actually process or touch the food;
Ensuring the cleanliness of all tools, implements and surfaces in contact with food;
Keeping vegetables handling to a minimum.
As an added safety precaution, in order to further limit face to face contact and minimize the handling of produce, your CSA will be pre-packaged and ready for easy pick up.
