Black Lives Matter
Racism and capitalism in this country were born simultaneously with the exploitation of black bodies through slavery. Our country has not done the work to rebalance the severe inequities of an economy that continues to be run by racist policies and politicians. Our lopsided food system is just one lens through which our country’s greed-driven policies continue to inflict violence upon black communities. ECO City Farms is committed to proving that a food system based on healing, environmental justice, and food sovereignty is possible.
ECO stands against racism, police brutality and injustice. The murders of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, Tony McDade and countless others at the hands of a justice system built on white supremacy are devastating. ECO stands in support for change, the protesters and the Black Lives Matter movement.
We support the struggle for genuine peace, justice, and transformation and will continue to work for an equitable future where every human being is fully respected, accorded fundamental rights and fulfilled basic needs.
Black lives matter; our collective health and survival matters; justice matters.
With love,
The farmers at ECO City Farms
