Our local foodshed hosts an annual CRAFT series. This Chesapeake Collaborative Regional Alliance for Farmer Training is a main season tour of the various farms in the area (generally, Virginia, DC, Maryland). It is meant to give interns and apprentices exposure to other farms, as well as connect existing growers with each other (and have a good time!). Typically, there is a monthly tour of a farm, with a potluck and sometimes a workshop. ECO City Farms’ staff, interns and apprentices are registered each year in the program.
New to CRAFT? You can join CRAFT as a farm crew or come to individual events for $10.
