Urban Agriculture Training Classes with PGCC
AGR-319 Intensive Introduction to Urban Commercial Agriculture
In this intensive course, you will be taught strategies for planning and designing an ecologically-sound urban farm, based on your needs, goals, and resources. Staring with the basic principles of sustainable farming, this course will touch on crop and soil science, composting, resource management and farm business planning. In addition, you will be taught food safety regulations and strategies needed to know to prepare produce for sale.
Dates: Wednesdays January 15, 2020 to March 11, 2020 (1st class is a meet and greet and orientation)

How to Register for PGCC Classes Online:
Most of our agriculture classes are held in conjunction with Prince George’s Community College, and you must register through their system. Please note that there will be an additional registration fee charged by PGCC for every class. Also, all materials are included in your registration, you will not need to pay any fees onsite (even if online registration form says so).
Step by step instructions:
- Note class number on listing, below.
- Go to www.pgcc.edu.
- At the top of the screen, click on “Owl Link”.
- Click the yellow bar on right that says “Workforce Development & Cont. Ed. Students.”
- On the left, click “Enroll and Register for Courses”.
- If you are a new student, you will need to create a student account. If you are a returning student, you will need to log in with your username and password.
- When you have logged into your account, you will be taken back to the main menu.
- Click the yellow bar on right that says “Workforce Development & Cont. Ed. Students.”
- On the left, click “Enroll and Register for Courses”.
- Click on “Register for Courses”
- In the box labeled “Course Code Number,” type the AGR number of your class (in individual listing below). You must use the hyphen if you’re typing in a specific course code. Don’t use the keyword search, as it usually doesn’t return useful or complete results.
- Check the box next to the class you wish to register for, and click “Submit” at the bottom of the page. Fill out the requested information, and be prepared to pay at the end.
- Note there will be a $20 registration fee charged by PGCC for every class.
- All materials are included in your registration, you will not need to pay any fees onsite (even if online registration form says so).

- Download an complete the Noncredit Student Registration form.
- Mail the completed form and your check or money order (made payable to Prince George’s Community College) to:
